1. Eight hundred and thirty patients of leprosy and 5,106 controls have teen studied in Malaysia. 2. From the analysis of the distribution of A.B.O. blood groups in relation to leprosy, it seems that there is no relationship between leprosy(including the three races-Chinese, Indian and Malay) and the A.B.O. blood groups. 3. However, data suggest that there is aome relation between leprosy and the A.B.O. blood groups among the Chinese and the Malays but not the Indians. 4. There is no significant difference in the A.B.O. blood group distribution between lepromatous and non-lepromatous patients . 5. The distribution in the A.B.O. blood groups of male and female differs slightly according to each 6. There is no relationship between the A.B.O. blood groups and the incidence of Erythema Nodosum Leprosum. 7. There is a greater frequency of Rh negative in the Indians than in the Malays while none of the Chinese are Rh negative. |
