Epidemiological studies were done on 189 new out-patients and 321 in-patients who
had been admitted at the Pusan Branch of KLCA for 10 years from January 1982
through December 1991.
1. The annual number of new leprosy patients had shown a tendency of decrease
yearly.
2. Male to female raio was 1.6:1 in new out-patient and 1.7:1 in in-patient.
3. The most frequent age group was the 2rd decade in new out-patient and 5th
decade in in-patient
4. The multibacillary type was more frequent than paucibacillary type in all patients.
5. The most frequent presenting illness were plantar ulcer and leprosy reaction in
in-patient. |
