After initiation of leprosy control in Korea, many things have been chanced
economically, socially and culturally.
The purpose of this study is to find out the problems in leprosy control in Gyeong gi
area and to figure out solutions to those problems.
Because of the addition of medical care for the crippled in the itinerant medical
examination and treatment, the visit interveal should be transformed from once for 2
months to once for 3 months.
Charge-free dermatologic consultation for the residents in local society has been done
to detect new cases of leprosy, but it has been all in vain in recnent years. So
charge-free dermatologic consultation should be abandoned.
Till now there has been no specialist in rehabilitation medicine in this institute, so we
can't practice rehabilitative medical care. But as preparation for the expansion or
transformation of our work in the near future towards rehabiltative medical care for the
crippled with leprosy and other diseases, itinerant medical care for the crippled should
be continued. |
