¿ä¾à There are no drugs without their side effects. Especially it is important that we have
to know various side effects of anti-leprosy drugs in treating leprosy patients since they
have been controlled long time.
Our purpose was to study evaluation of live functions of our leprosy patients.
We conducted liver function tests(GOT and GPT) and hepatitis B antigen test in 311
and 248 leprosy patients respectively.
There were 28(5.4%) abnormal subject(> 50 unit).
We thought that it was generally useful for all patients to have complete blood and
GPT, prior to the start of therapy and, during therapy regularly. Especially, we thought
that the frequency of follow-up laboratory studies must be taken every 1 or 2 months
in the first year of therapy since most toxicity occur during this time.
