Anti-PGL-1 antibody(IgM) detection was remained for monitoring treatment of multibacillary leprosy. Author has studied this test to apply onto leprosy control program and following results were obtained. 1. Ninty-two percent of positivity is revealed at multibacillary untreated new leprosy cases(Table 2). 2. Antibody titers of PGL-1 declined simultanously with the decline of BI(Table 3). 3. Antibody titers of PGL-1 declined simultanously with the BI at the patients absconded for a longtime (average 35.4mo.) after regular MDT treatment for more than 4 years(Table 4). 4. Antibody titers declining at all case of RFT group patient(Table 5). 5. Among 784 patients in 25 resettlement villages, 31.4% of patients of L-type revealed positive antibody titer(Table 7). 6. Compliance to MDT became more clarified. 7. Medical control program to resettlement villages to be reconsidered |
