¿ä¾à This report describe the histopathological findings in 533 biopsies obtained from Jan.
1982 to Dec. 1990 at Korea Leprosy Control Association.
1. Using the Ridley-Jopling system, these skin biopsies were classified as follow:
I=2(0.5%);TT=1(0.3%); BT=33(8.7%);BB=14(3.7%);BL=96(25.3%);LL=233(61.5%).
2. Nerve biopsies from 20 patients clinically suspected to have leprosy were studied.
Histopathologically 5 cases showed leprosy. A multibacillary and one case multibacillary
picture was seen in all five nerve biopsies while three cases clinically exhibited
paucibacillary and on case multibacillary leprosy.
3. of 28 ENL cases, 8 cases, 8 cases were BL and 20 cases were LL Among 4 cases of
Reversal Reaction, they were in BT, BB, BL, and LL, respectively. All 9 cases of
Histiod nodule were LL type.
4. A study of growths in trophic ulcers of 12 leprosy patients was done, Squamous ca
was in 5 cases and pseudepithelimatous hyperplasia in 4 cases.
