¿ä¾à M. leprae from new lepromatous leprosy patient were proven to be DDS-sensitive by
mouse foot-pad inocluation test. and these DDS-sensitive bacilli obtained from mice
were inoculated into another CBA mice and the following results were obtained from
harvest on 180 days and 270 days after the pas sage.
1. It was observed that M. leprae could be well grown through passage inoculation
from mice to mice.
2. There was no change of nature of M. leprae by passage into mice, so that
DDS-sensitive bacilli are always remained same nature as DDS-sensitive.
3. There was no difference of the general ion time between bacilli of the first passage
and the second passage in mice.
4. Therefore, it is recognized that the original M. leprae from leprosy patients could be
preserved by passage inoculation into mice.
