A 25-year-old woman has been described who showed a pigeon-egg sized erythematous anesthetic plaque on the dorsal aspect of the right thumb with tender local nerve thickening for about 7 months. A skin biopsy revealed confluent epithelioid tubercles containing multinucleated giant cells with destruction of the sweat glands and nerves. Unusual feature was an excessively small size of the lesion, requiring a careful meticulous examination to differentiate it from various dermatoses. |
