¿ä¾à Lepromatous nodules may develop on any part of the body in a patient with
lepromatous leprosy, however it is very rarely seen in the eyes.
A case of a 28-year-old male with lepromatous leprosy with nodular lepromata on the
sclera has been reported.
The skin lesions were characterized by the presence of multiple erythematous nodules
on the face and both extremities, scanty eyebrows and anhidrosis on the feet and palms.
On ophthalmologic examination, a pea sized small nodule was located on the left
sclera and exophthalmos on both eyes with severe visual disturbance were noted. The
ocular pressure was also elevated.
Scraping tests from ocular leproma stowed many acid fast bacilli microscopically.
We reviewed related literature on similar case studies and discussions followed.
