To understand a part of immunological status of household contacts of leprosy
patients, distribution of T-lymphocyte and immunoglobulin fraction (IgG, IgA, IgM)
assessment in peripheral blood of 17 healthy household contacts of leprosy patients was
carried out. The results showed that the total lymphocyte count of household contacts
was 2387.8¡¾147.4/mm, higher than that of normal subjects 1,604.7¡¾118.1
The rate of active and total T-lymphocytes of household contacts was 32% and 51%
respectively, while that for normal subjects was 24 and 51%. The values of each class
of immunoglobulins in household contacts were IgG; 1185.5mg %, IgA;142.3mg %, IgM;
166.5mg %, and values of normal subjects were respectively IgG; 1312.7mg %, IgA;
156mg %, and IgM;244.2mg %.
