With one hundred and twelve serum of leprosy patients including 80 cases of lepromatous leprosy and 32 cases of tuberculoid type by the method of Takada test and modified Jester method, we have got the result as follows; 1) Seventy three of 112 cases were positive reaction and these who 49 of 70 cases in male patients (70.0%) and 24 of 42 in female (57.1%), so the ratio of positive reaction was higher in male than in female. 2) Classified by the disease type, 66 of 80 cases(82.5%)of L-type including 44 of 51 in male and 22 of 29 in female, and 7 of 32(21,9%)of T-type including 5 of 19 male and 2 of 13 female were positive results. 3) By the degree of severity in L-type, 43 of 57 (75.4%) of mild cases including 25 of 33 male and 17 of 24 female, all of the 19 moderate cases including 14 male and 5 females, and severe all 4 cases in male were positive results. 1 of 14 mild cases (7.1%) in T-type including none of 9 male and 1 of 5 females, 4 of 12 moderate cases (33.3%) including 3 of 5 male and 2 of 6 severe cases (33.3%)including 2 of 5 male and negative one case in female, above all were positive results. 4) Positive ratio in L-type increased parallel to the severity of disease from weak positive to strong Positive in reaction Patterns. In T-type, there is not distinctive patterns as L-type but 1 of severe cases yielded strong positive reaction. 5) On the Whole, positive ratio by age group are higher in elder group than younger as like that the positive ratio are 10.1% in the range from 15 to 19 years old and 94.6% the range 6) In L-type, positive ratio by the age was higher in old group than in younger from 14.3% in the range 15-19 age group to maximum 100% in the range of age 30-34 and 40-44 or elder than this. 7) In L-type, positive ratio by the age some what increased from 14.3% in the range 20-24 age group but there was no significant difference in T-type. 8) Compared the pattern in L-type which showed increased positive ratio along tIne severity. there was no such trend in T-type. 9) The phenomenon of increased positive ratio related to the disease period elapsed was more prominent in L-type than in T-type. |
