BCG(1:10 dilution) 1ml was injected into the active nodules of lepromatous leprosy
patients locally and the following results were obtained.
1. The number of Mycobacterium leprae in the nodule was diminished significantly and
so called acid-fast substance was seen scarcely on weeks after BCG local injection.
2. The histopathological changes of the nodule were shown borderling leprosy from
lepromatous leprosy since 6 weeks after BCG local injection.
3. Three findings suggest the possibility of BCG immunotherapy for lepromatous leprosy
will be expected as well as chemotherapy. |
