¿ä¾à The present study is aneultrafine structure of Mycobacterium leprae treatment with
thiocarbanilie(L-4) and D.D.S. by means of electron microscopy and reveals the
following.
1. The normal leprosy bacillus contains general cytoplasmic materials such as cell
wall. cytoplasmic membrane, intracytoplasmic membrane system and enclosing
membrane.
2. Increase of electron transparent area (ETA) and foamy structure were observed in
the D.D.S and L-4 treated group.
3. Cell component treated with L-4 and D.D.S., were not observed obvious cell
morphology.
4. Cell walls were remain for long time period which were treated with
chemotherapeuties.
5. Increase of electron transparent area was thought to be associated with degradation
process.
